 I've been using my Shape Ups for 3+ months now, and I love these shoes. I had to give up running because of knee pain, and walking every day wasn't giving me the weight loss I enjoyed before, so I decided to give the Shape Ups a try to increase the challenge. Learning to walk in them took a little work, but the instructional DVD really helped. Since I switched to walking in these shoes, I get a real workout in my calves, hams, and glutes (and abs, if I walk for an hour+.) I really love how my calves are looking now, I'm getting better definition in them than when I was running every day. I'm losing weight a lot faster than walking in tennis shoes, and my average heart rate gets a lot higher. Additionally, my knee and back pain have been dramatically reduced, as the Shape Ups force your muscles to really do the work in supporting you, rather than the impact of every step going straight up your shin, and thereby transmitted to your knee. The shoes force good posture (but not uncomfortably), really benefiting my back. I resent days where I have to wear any other shoes, because these make me feel so good! As far as walking and "every day" shoes go, I think I'll keep buying these until I'm in the ground.
